Welcome to Mr. Szyikowski's 7th Grade Technology Class @ Phoenix CSD
Technology Education at the middle school level is an introductory course. Every student will get 20 weeks of Technology in 7th grade and another 20 weeks in the eighth grade. Currently there are 10 sections in each grade level. Our labs are some of the best in the state as they were renovated in 2009 along with a large capital improvement project. We are fortunate to have a computer lab with great equipment which can seat 24 students. This lab is next to a work or shop area that is used for building and testing projects for class. The two rooms are divided by a glass wall that allows for great supervision of both labs.
Why Technology EducationThe purpose of this course is to provide every student with some of the skills needed in today's work force, as well as be part of the schools effort to prepare the students success after school. In this course the students will be learning computer skills like typing, 3D drafting, creating digital graphs, running architecture software, and enhancing their publication skills. In the work shop area the students will be learning how to safely use tools and machines, wiring, plumbming, sheetrock repair, and more. As you can see this is a hands on course, which most students enjoy.
